Julisa's Bio

Hello! My name is Julisa but my friends and family call me Lisa (: 

I was born on thanksgiving day in 1997, Sagittarius, at the Maryvale hospital. I also graduated at Maryvale high-school along with the rest of my siblings.  Life has always been a small world to me, but I always try to branch out and meet new people, and that's what Phoenix college did for me. I am the daughter of immigrant parents, my dad got deported when I was only 12, I know what its like to lose everything and not have a place to call home. I never really tried to be the best comparing to my sisters with awards and amazing grades, until I realized that they just wanted to live normal lives. I was not gonna let years of trauma and struggles to repeat. I truly wanted to provide a better future for my mom, who has cleaned houses and hurt her back many times, and of course my future family. So much has happened in my life that It could inspire others to not give up on their dreams based on their background and mistakes. I am blessed everyday knowing that i am taking the steps to becoming a first gen-graduate in my family in hopes to bring my degree to my father back in Mexico.
